This blog is dedicated to informing people of the prevalence and dangers of polypharmacy.  We chose this  “hot topic” because people of different ages, religions, and races are being affected due to the misinterpretation that they should not question their physician, or lack education about the medications they are taking and the reasons why.  Some people also fail to inform their physician of all the medications they take, or purposely abuse the system.  All of the reasons above lead to a very dangerous “perfect storm” of side effects and deadly consequences.  Education is the best way to be aware of your risk or your patient’s risk.

Who are we?  We are a group of pre-nursing students at The University of Texas in Arlington taking a pharmacology class.  We are:

  • Chad Davis
  • Jennifer Broumley
  • Shana Casey
  • Tiffany Bruton

Please feel free to leave us a comment and give us some feedback!!!  We welcome your opinion and/or knowledge of this very important topic.
